Bible Prophecies: The Third Trumpet of Revelation

The third trumpet of Revelation is a difficult prophecy to summarise as it mentions “the star Wormwood.” And despite mass speculation of what Wormwood is, nobody gives a realistically believable account.

“The third angel sounded, a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water– the name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.” Revelations 8:10

Some scholars describe the aforementioned star as the Battlestar Wormwood which is controlled by the Anunnaki and is heading towards Earth to destroy us. According to many mainstream scholars, and the ancient alien enthusiasts documented on the History Channel, the Anunnaki are the creators of man after they visited Sumeria in Mesopotamia around 5,500 BCE and injected homus erectus with alien DNA and gave us knowledge of advanced technology and engineering.

So why would they return to destroy Earth? The answer to that may be found in countless myths and religions from around the world that talks of Gods creating man then destroying them because they have become evil and spiralling out of control. Apply this principle to the world leaders of the modern age and you can easily agree with the prophecies of Revelation and Nostradamus together with accounts given in myths and religions. But the world leaders are no less evil and destructive today than they have been throughout recorded history.

One of the leading authorities on the interpretations of Revelation believes the third trumpet sounded in 1986 with the explosion of Chernobyl. The Ukrainian translation of Chernobyl is Wormwood, and is true that the nuclear fallout contaminated the waters of springs and rivers.

Chernobyl is the worst nuclear accident the world has witnessed to date and exposed 6.6 million people to lethal radiation and contaminated the Dneiper River, one of Europe´s largest water systems. However, it does not account for anything like a third of the worlds rivers.

The theory goes on to state that “many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter,” which was the case with Chernobyl. However, the bitterness is the cause of radiation and will happen to a third of rivers if the naval battle breaks out as suggested in the Second Trumpet of Revelation. Furthermore, Wormwood is a perennial herb that has a very bitter taste and could account for the description in the New Testament.

Other scholars surmise that the wording of St. John´s prophecy does not refer to a celestial being or a nuclear fallout, but is in fact a leader that carries the name Wormwood, either in translation or a codename – and all secret service agencies give codenames to prominent figures in their records.

If the end times predicted by Nostradamus and the book of Revelation are true, then it is most likely to be man bringing destruction on man, or rather the corrupt and selfish leaders of the world bring doom to the innocent who want only peace.
